Hostel information

Welcome to the High Peaks Hostel web site. We are located in the village of Lake Placid, in the Adirondack Park in upstate New York.

The hostel offers a clean, comfortable place to stay while you explore Lake Placid and the surrounding area. All beds are bunkbeds in shared bunkrooms. The cost per bed is $30, which includes all sheets, towels, tax and breakfast. There is a common living area and a dining room, but no kitchen access. Reservations must be made in advance by calling or emailing (see Contact information above). The hostel is closed during the day from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Guests can make arrangements for late arrivals by contacting us directly.

Groups

We specialize in group bookings and have hosted many scout troops, outdoor clubs and college groups from around the world. In addition to lodging, we offer meal packages and can help your organization plan a trip here. Please contact us for more information if you are interested in setting something up.

Location

The hostel is available by bus and train as well as car.

For information on bus routes, visit the Adirondack Trailways site. The train schedule is available at the Amtrak web site. Note that the train stops at Westport, N.Y., and a shuttle runs from Westport to Lake Placid. If coming by train, make sure to mention that you need the shuttle to Lake Placid when you are making your reservation.
